Director, Sustainability Outcomes and SDGs
Elsa has over a decade of experience working for the private sector and with stakeholders on corporate sustainability. Her expertise focuses on social/human rights issues and their intersection with legal frameworks and reporting standards on wider ESG/sustainability issues applicable to corporates and investors.

She is currently a Director at the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI). At the PRI, she leads a pioneering programme on investors’ management of sustainability impacts and delivery of the SDGs.

Prior to joining the PRI, she was an attorney-at-law, advising multinational companies and public sector organisations on the implementation of international, domestic and sectorial business and human rights standards. She also co-founded Herbert Smith Freehills’ market leading business and human rights practice and acted as its firm-wide coordinator.

She is regularly called as an expert on human rights due diligence at the French and EU policy level and with senior executives. Her publications on this topic are widely cited, notably on the French Vigilance Law. She teaches at several universities, including Sciences Po Paris and ESSEC business school where she is a permanent lecturer. Amongst her other commitments, she sits on the expert panel (personnalité qualifiée) of the French Forum for Responsible Investment.
