Prof. Dr. Adriano Alfredo Nuvunga – is a scholar, Democracy and Human Rights Defender in Mozambique and Africa. He is the Director of the Centro para Democracia e Desenvolvimento (CDD), a Democracy, Governance and Human Rights Organization in Mozambique which, inter alia, is catalysing the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights in Cabo Delgado. Prof. Nuvunga teaches political science at the Eduardo Mondlane University in Maputo. He Chairs the Mozambique Human Rights Defenders Network; and is the Deputy chairperson of the Southern Africa Human Rights Defenders Network. Prof. Nuvunga is a Senior Research Fellow at the Good Governance Africa (GGA) based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Prof. Nuvunga is a member of the Board of the Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP), based in Accra, Ghana. His next book examines the nexus: Extractive Sector Governance and Violent Conflict in Mozambique.
