Carolina is an Dean and Associate Professor at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Bogotá. Colombia. Member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration, The Hague.
Carolina holds a PhD degree in Law at the Université Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne, a master’s degree in International Law from the Robert Schuman University of Strasbourg, and a Law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana of Bogota. Her research focuses on the articulation of International Investment Law and Human Rights in the Latin-American context, business and Human Rights, collective memory and legal education. She has several publications regarding the particularities of the Inter-American Human Rights System, the interaction of economics and Human Rights, the evolution of the International Investment Regime, the effectiveness of economic, social and cultural rights, business and Human Rights, and the impact of legal education in Latin-America. Carolina serves as member of the Editorial Board of the Brazilian Journal of International Law and the Anuario Iberoamericano sobre Derecho Internacional Humanitario,  Board member, Global Business and Human Rights Association, and founding member of the Colombian Academy of International Law (ACCOLDI).
